Perennial

General Information

Refreshments

  • Light refreshments (tea, coffee, cake and biscuits) are available and can be eaten in the garden.

Plant Stall

  • Nearly all the plants on our plant stall are propagated from the garden by our team of volunteers.

Disabled visitors

  • The garden is preserved in the style and character in which it was created by its former owners. Regrettably access for wheelchair users is difficult because of the narrow paths and gravel surfaces. The toilet is inaccessible to wheelchair users.
  • People who have difficulty walking can be dropped at the gate.

Dogs

  • Dogs are not allowed in the garden (except guide dogs).

Smoking

  • Smoking in the garden is not permitted.

If you come to York Gate on a Thursday or Sunday afternoon, you can combine your visit with a tour of St John the Baptist church. Just 3 minutes walk from the garden, this church offers one of the finest examples of Norman church architecture in the country. Find out more at http://adelstjohnchurch.org.uk
