Our charity is governed by a Board of Trustees who serve on a voluntary basis. They are drawn from a variety of professions and walks of life. However, all have a common objective of providing the very best in support services to those in need in horticulture.
Sir Roger Singleton - Chairman
Retired as Chief Executive of Barnardo's in 2005, and is now Chief Government Adviser on the Safety of Children and Chair of the Independent Safeguarding Authority.

Freelance garden writer, stylist, book author and TV presenter.
Jim Buttress VMH
Former Superintendent of the Royal Parks. RHS Judge, including Britain in Bloom (former Chairman).
Christine Cohen
Past Master of the Worshipful Company of Gardeners. City Councillor, City of London.
Ken Crowther
Former nursery and garden centre owner and past President of the Horticultural Trades Association. Local radio broadcaster.

Senior Management Team
Richard Capewell - Chief Executive
Richard took over the reins as Chief Executive in 1999. He has held senior positions in Mencap and was Director of Children's Services for a Surrey based charity caring for children with disabilities before joining Perennial. Richard has long been a Trustee and former Chair of the specialist social care charity, Equinox.
Sally Hanson - Director of Finance & Administration
Sally is a chartered accountant, who has many years experience in the charity sector in both formal financial roles and as a volunteer. Her most recent role was with a charitable social landlord who also provided tenancy support services. Sally has been with Perennial since August 2007.
Debbie Lyne - Director of Marketing & Fundraising
Debbie joined Perennial in November 2005, and has worked in charity fundraising for nearly 20 years. Among other roles, she has headed up fundraising and PR at the Rainforest Foundation, United Response and the Connection at St Martin's.
Sheila Thomson - Director of Services
Taking up this role in September 2002, Sheila's background is in advice work, support services and sheltered and supported housing. Sheila is responsible for all the services offered by Perennial, including our caseworker team and the charity's retirement accommodation.
